Pink Carnations

Yesterday's Pink Carnations is Y. Nahshon's second collection of poetry. Considered much more mellow than Diamond's in the Night Sky, the author's tone is a little less raw yet still continues to query and ponder social issues while taking life one day at a time.

This book will sprint you through depressing valleys of misty rain to climb up steep inclines before leaving you breathless and lonely at the mountain peak, all the while questioning the purpose of your mission, the validity of your charge, the fidelity of your love. Published in June 2012, this is poetry for tomorrow, yesterday, and today.

Diamonds In The Night Sky

"Never been to this school before,
it's her first week
She's got dimples in her cheeks
but an accent when she speaks
So the kids in grade school
who can sometimes be cruel
call her names like Tar baby
making her insecure..."

So begins the journey the author takes us on into his world of tears
and smiles, laughs and sighs. With a diverse collection of poems this
book is a collage of emotions and scenes where this poet bares not
only his soul but also reveals his dreams and insights.
